I make white cedar pole planters with bird feeders on top.
The poles have short branches for the birds to rest on, a place to attach hummingbird feeders, and other items you may want to hang from them. They also come with two decorative hanging plant holders. There is a large box planter at the base that can be either filled with potting soil or potted plants. When used with potted plants I typically add a false floor to raise the potted plants up slightly for better viewing. On top of the pole I mount a white cedar bird feeder which I typically add a suet feeder to. The entire arrangement is then sealed with Helmsman Spar sealer which was developed to protect wooden boat hulls.
